I had a conversation with *Market America Distributor Services* about *
shipping* and *sales tax*. Please let your customers know about this.****
*SALES TAX*
The corporate team have advised us that our purchase of Shop.com has
*eliminated sales tax* on orders placed by customers in 47 states-all of the
states except CA, NC and FL, because we only have a "physical presence" in
those 3 states. But a recent order by a customer had sales tax assigned to
it. I chased this down and discovered that because it was bought from the *
MarketAmerica.com* website and NOT the *SHOP.COM <http://shop.com/>*website,
*the customer had to pay the sales tax*. So, help your customers out:
introduce them to the new site (*shop.com/yourlastname*) and show them how
shopping on the new site will save them *8%* (in ****Onondaga County**, **NY
****, for example) on every purchase. This gives you the opportunity to give
them a review of the new portal. ****
Also, since all of the mini websites are CURRENTLY connected to the
marketamerica.com site, a shopper will still be paying sales tax if they buy
product from the mini websites' sales cart. ****
*SHIPPING*
Mark Ashley recently advised us at the convention that Market America will
change how we do shipping charges. For purchases of $99.99 or less, there
will be a flat fee of $5. Anything costing $100 or more will receive FREE
SHIPPING. This HAS NOT gone into effect yet. Distributor services said that
a forthcoming Newsline will explain the implementation of this new customer
benefit. Date for implementation is unknown. ****
If you have iTransact, do customer orders through SHOP.COM site still ship without sales tax in the 47 states? I have heard conflicting information on this.

I believe that any orders originating in states that you have a Sales and Use Tax License will add tax to your customers orders. I suggest that you contact computer support to get your question answered.
